“When you set a goal, you cannot only set it but you have to plan ahead for it” Student, Grade 9

Finish What’s Been Started

Many exciting options are made available for students who graduate high school! Economics for Success(ESIS) is currently JASA’s most widely delivered program and it's no wonder when you consider that Grade nine students are either making course decisions that will affect their post-secondary education, or considering how their high school diploma may allow them a career path of their choice. ESIS gives students a new perspective on how informed choices can jump-start their future, today! Those students who attend ESIS seminars are encouraged to see education as an opportunity to broaden their life choices.

ESIS helps students explore and manage their job and career choices by focusing on the direct links between further education and personal goals. Students come to understand how every opportunity is a stepping-stone to success and realize the financial constraints of independence. They explore the relationships of the following four concepts:

  • Success - Develops a relationship between education and the achievement of personal goals

  • Balance - Identifies the financial costs of independence and how to make choices matching lifestyle to salary

  • Opportunity - Identifies Employability skills and their value for future job opportunities

  • Futures - Identifies career mentors and highlights possible career opportunities, planning resources and other key concepts in the program
