Company Program: A Student Venture- School Edition (Grade 9-12)
WHAT IS COMPANY PROGRAM: A STUDENT VENTURE-SCHOOL EDITION?
Company Program: A Student Venture- School Edition affords students the opportunity to experience the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship by starting and operating a classroom-based business . Participants have the opportunity to be involved in the life cycle of a business from raising money to start their venture, to selling off their assets and liquidating their company. Students learn:
- Entrepreneurship - Novel ideas to fill a void or identify a market need, job creation, innovation, calculated risk-taking and adaptability.
- Workforce Readiness - Job roles, money management, performance measures, writing, speaking, presentations and practical experience.
- Life Skills - Leadership, teamwork, communication, decision making, problem solving, accountability, and critical thinking skills.
Student Venture provides a risk-free opportunity for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be successful business owners and operators.

Volunteer positions for the 2008/2009 school year AVAILABLE!
Volunteers are partnered with a class and make 6-8 one-hour classroom visits. Training and all teaching materials are provided by Junior Achievement to prepare you for a dynamic classroom experience.
